A Sensitive and Practical Evaluation to Detect Lower-Limb Strength Changes in Geriatrics: The Isometric Knee Extension Test

This study aimed to examine the sensitivity of isometric knee extension (IKE) test detect changes in lower-limb strength institutionalized older adults after exercise and inactivity periods. Thirty-four fifteen completed training inactive periods, respectively. At each time point, participants two testing sessions. In first session, they performed IKE test. As a complement this evaluation, second session was used assess their functional capacity handgrip strength. The examined by comparing generated against repeatability protocol. A 4-week multicomponent Vivifrail program implemented. After that, subsample re-evaluated 14-week period.
